The E.O. Smith Music Department with some financial help from the Music Parents, has a few practice rooms with computers which have access to SmartMusic, a computer-based interactive practice tool.

How does SmartMusic work?

SmartMusic provides exercises and accompaniment while allowing the student to control tempo, key, and other features while they practice. This highly flexible tool may be used for band, orchestra, or chorus, and includes a library of over 30,000 titles!

How can students get access to and learn to use SmartMusic?

Music students may use the school’s music practice room computer. To increase SmartMusic availability to music students, computers have been installed in additional practice rooms. Music Parents continue to help fund more practice rooms with SmartMusic.

Students may also use the software at home if they have a home computer with internet access and have paid a student subscription fee that covers the entire school year.
