Proceeds from fund-raising and donations help us to fund a variety of events and awards, including:
- Senior Scholarship Awards - awarded to graduating seniors who will be going on to study music or music education in college.
- Snacks for the annual Music Department trip
- SmartMusic - in Spring of 2008 and 2009, the Music Parents gifted the cost of establishing a few computers with subscriptions to SmartMusic. This gift helps the Music Department get closer to their goals of introducing technology into the Music classroom and benefits the students as well as the teachers. One of the goals for Music Parents in this upcoming year is to help the Music Department advance their efforts to bring technology in the classroom by raising funds and accepting donations towards more computers with “SmartMusic” learning software for band, orchestra and choir.
- EO Smith Music Web Site - members of the Music Parents Association have volunteered to launch and manage this website but there are incidental costs for hosting the site.
